When we are parents, there are so much to do with kids, sometimes we just ignore taking good care of ourselves…
I don’t sleep enough; I’m super stressed; my clothes just get tighter and tighter. What happened?
It went gradually: from 113lb pre-pregnancy, 133lb after the first kiddo, and 145lb after the second, I have not lost any weight after having kids, even with breastfeeding (44 months two kids combined).
Partially due to not having a big mirror in the bathroom, I didn’t even realize it: I have been getting heavier and heavier.
One day I stepped on the scale, 152lb (69kg)! WHAAAAAT? This is my all-time high record!!!
Obviously, I’m not a fast-food lover; I don’t drink soda; I’m not addicted to sweets; I go to a gym regularly. Our family doesn’t dine out a lot or eat highly processed food. But with fatigue, stress, age and some health issues… I still weight too much for my height (5’4″) and have a middle section that I’m not proud of. After 2 friends asked me if I was expecting a third child. I know it’s time to do something.
It may be a little extreme toward a healthier lifestyle, I’ve started a lot of things in September:
-Get more vegetables into my diet, including vegetable juice.
-Doing Tabata HIIT and weight training twice a week.
-Started intermittent fasting, means only eat between 12pm-8pm.
-Avoid refined carb; eat one big salad for lunch every day.
-Try to write every day.
Other kitchen adventures including but not limited to:
-First-time sprout mung bean sprouts.
-Experiment with an air fryer.
The exact air fryer I used:
-Try to start an avocado tree from the seed. WHAT?
Still to do:
-Sleep more
I read The Miracle Morning book, got some inspiration, but still found it was difficult to sleep early, so I continued to “snooze” in the morning. I’m not as productive as I want.
Any suggestions for making myself to go to bed earlier?
-Stress less
Kids stress me the most for sure. A husband who works long hours and has long commute cannot help much during weekdays. No family around to lend a hand from time to time. Driving 2-3 hours every day (Taxi mom) is robbing away my time and energy.
I still need to work on reducing my stress even with all these conditions that cannot change in the new future. Maybe I should restart yoga?
