Party decor printables are available in my Etsy shop.
July is a busy month with 3 national holidays that are dear to our family. We spent the 4th of July weekend in a small town close to Lassen Volcanic National Park. The 21st of July is Belgium’s national day, since Le Monsieur (it will be my husband’s nickname for now) ) is half Belgian, so we celebrate it too.
“La Fête Nationale Française” is coming. We call it “Le 14 Juillet” in France, here in the US it’s “the Bastille Day”. It seems that most US cities celebrate Bastille Day on the weekend that follows July 14th. We did a little bit earlier this last weekend with a tricolor buffet. I made a series of French-inspired printables. Hope you can use some of them to personalize your table.
Round stickers with Eiffel Tower and fireworks. They can be used on cups, bowls, cupcake wrappers, etc…
Water bottle wrappers. They work best with the water bottles that are not too wide.
Individual potato chip bags.
Chips are ultimate party food, but I always feel it isn’t very elegant and hygienic when everyone has to dig into the same bowl for it. You can image how excited I was when I found out an easy way to fold out individual snack bags with paper! I made mine out of parchment paper, you can use any clean paper. Voilà, with a personalized sticker, the chips just got elevated.
Some side story: I sent Le Monsieur to the grocery store to choose the cheese he wanted, also the potato chips for the photo shoot. You know what, he came home with an almost empty bag of chips, and I have to go buy another one! He was munching them during the drive home and complained why the bags of chips today are so small :-). STOP eating my props!
Print out French flags in 3 sizes. I used the official RGB color code for the flag, but the color can vary depending on your printer.
Don’t forget some French sweets: the homemade Madeleines. And Jell-Os are always kids’ favorites. Who can say “no” to these bright-colored tiny cups?
Last but not least, how can a French celebration do without French cheeses? These cheese tags come in handy so your guests know what they are getting.
Since even the basic French cheeses are not cheap here in the US. I let Le Monsieur choose 4 kinds that I can photograph and he can eat later so we don’t waste anything. BIG MISTAKE! During the whole weekend, before I got everything ready, he just could not stop pressing me about eating those cheeses.
Lesson learned: buy more cheese than needed if I’m going to photograph them. So Le Monsieur can have his dose of “Fromage” while leaving me enough for the photo.
So this was our Bastille Day celebration. Our tummies were happy with all the French goodies while we were sad that “Les Bleus” lost UEFA EURO Final.
