The super easy way to make pumpkin spice latte at home, that has 30-50% fewer calories than that store bought!
To flavored coffees, I normally have only one word:
“Nay”.
The only exception I can think of is:
Pumpkin spiced latte.
Pumpkin and warm spices work perfectly with coffee. During the pumpkin season, we always have half a can of pumpkin puree somewhere waiting to be used off. Why don’t use it for coffee? Or ice cream?
I’m sure you have all the other ingredients available now right in your kitchen:
maple syrup, some warm spices, and milk (or almond milk) ready to be whipped up.
Still have too much pumpkin puree left? You may also like this Refined-sugar free pumpkin spice ice cream.
While a big person is enjoying this homemade Pumpkin spice latte, you cannot leave out those small persons at home. Babyccino is now growing its popularity in the US, which is basically frothed milk at a perfect temperature for kids. The Australian people who invented this are brilliant! I think this pumpkin flavored babyccino will be perfect for your little ones.
The truth is: I’ve started this post right before the wildfires have broken off at Wine Country. And I wrote a bunch of stuff about why you shouldn’t go to a coffee shop regularly for your morning coffee, because of sugar, high calories and without it, you can save a thousand dollar of year, etc.. etc. It just feels so not relevant now.
The smoke is in the air. Wildfires are still burning in the Wine Country, just one-hour drive north of here. Who is not heartbreaking when seeing all those pictures and videos of the fire report? A week into this fire crisis, hundreds of people have lost their lives and thousands have to leave their home. Firefighters are still trying to contain the fire…
While we can still enjoy a warm cup of coffee in the morning and stay in the safety of our home. Let’s take a moment to think of people of Wine Country. And there are many ways you can help: https://ww2.kqed.org/news/2017/10/13/from-donations-to-volunteering-how-to-help-fire-victims/
Last note: always prepare a Ready-to-go emergency bag, especially if you live in an area that is prone to natural disaster.
Stay safe and help when you can!
