Pretty pink paris birthday party

Paris birthday Party-6

It was actually 2 months ago, Gabby’s 5th birthday party. Can you believe it? But with setting up the blog, the girls’ school summer break, learning to take some decent photos, etc, etc… I finally got around to write this post. The photos here were all taken by my husband. He is the person in this family that normally takes charge of shooting photos. To be honest, he was not happy when I took over HIS camera to work on my blog.

Paris birthday Party-5

This year, I tried to be a good host. Last year at Gabby’s Rainbow birthday party I actually forgot to serve the cake to the parents, since it was a take-apart cake. And I remembered the piñata after half the guests have already left. So this year, the cake is already on the table and the Piñata on the tree. The pinata is macaron shaped if you can tell from this far away. I don’t even have a close-up photo before it broken into pieces!

The “5” is made with coffee filters. The name letters I cut them out from a foam board and wrapped them with tricolored yarn. All these will be in some detailed tutorials in future posts, including how I made the table decorations, macarons, cake pops, Eiffel tower candies and the cake.

Paris birthday Party-1I don’t know what a roll of paper towel was doing on my table! Gabby had already her mouth full of sweets of course. This is our only shot of the table since we were so busy that day. I actually finished the cake like half an hour before the party started. The lesson I learned this time is definitely leaving plenty of time to SET UP the table. Otherwise, all the pretty and yummy stuff you made won’t be able to properly present themselves.

Macarons are always very popular. Was this shot taken maybe 5 minutes into the party? I made batches of and batches of them since the color didn’t turn out like I wanted the first few. I still need to work on that. We’ve eaten a lot of them these last two months. 🙂Paris birthday Party-3Cake pops are kids’ favorite, so easy to handle.

Paris birthday Party-4The Eiffel Tower candy pops to take home with a craft party favor.

I will try to get all the tutorials ready after the 4th July weekend since we will be traveling. Hope you will come back later to see more.

Thank you for reading!
